Gagging and Loving

Valentine’s Day

Ah! These days, in my opinion but in the words of Vera Dietz, are “It was a false, Hallmark holiday. A sham. A moneymaking sideshow for insecure couples who didn’t have true love.”

But by no means, do I hate Valentine’s- I just don’t much care for it. However, I just realized it’s a perfect opportunity for me to read all those rom-coms and drafty drama without the nagging feeling that I’m turning all mushy-mushy.

And so I compile this list of books, both read and to-read, for you lot out there who themselves would shy away from the aroma of love *cue eye roll* and miss out on the sweet nectar of hearts(which I guess is a euphemism for blood).

To decide what kind of book will suit you on this valentine’s Day, I have prepared a simple quiz.

Q.1 What goes through your mind when you look at the following picture?

a. Awww… so cute. Lemme take a picture. And why don’t you feed me, Josh?

b. Perhaps she is compromised. Her limbs aren’t functional.

c. Gah! People get a room. Don’t rub it in the face of lonely shmucks out here.

d. No comment.

Q.2 How do you spell ‘love’?

a. Lurv. Because I’m in so much lurv it has blighted my spelling skills.

b.Love. Is there any other way?

c. Lurv. With sarcasm.

d. No comment.

Q.3 What was the duration during which you drew hearts sub-consciously on your Math notebook?

a. Kindergarten- ???

b. Sixth  grade- twelfth. For practice in bio.

c. During that atrocious tween-age period.

d. No comment.

Q.4 Who would you pick: Sherlock or the Eleventh Doctor? Or if you go for girls: Yoruichi Shihōin or Amy Pond?

a.Sherlock/Amy Pond
